SEARCHLIGHT AFFILIATE IN MYANMAR

In light of the difficult spiritual and political situation, Searchlight is doing all it can to help the church in Myanmar at the present time. The Burmese translation of "Light for Life" is regularly being distributed across the country to every denominational group, with a circulation of 4,000 copies each issue.

In 2005, Searchlight representatives visited Yangon and held a conference for pastors while they were there. Over 50 denominations and organizations were represented at the conference.

Searchlight is now working to develop affiliates in Myanmar that will be able to continue the work of building the church of Jesus Christ in the situations and circumstances within the country.

A faithful church in Yangon, Myanmar

Henry and his family are Searchlight’s representatives in Myanmar. In 2002 he started church planting in Yangon, and he has seen the Holy Spirit touch many lives, as people have been converted from a Buddhist background to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

He is now serving as Missions Pastor of Fellowship Bible Church Myanmar, which he founded, with the intention of fulfilling the great commission and taking the gospel to all parts of the country.

To fulfil that task, our affiliate hopes to send out church planters and missionaries. He also hopes to practically show the love of Christ by caring for orphans. A Searchlight Literature center is also part of his vision for the body of Christ in Myanmar--a place where resources will be available for pastors and church leaders.

The first group of orphans being cared for in Myanmar

Please pray for the church in Myanmar. They are facing difficult times. This part of the body of Christ needs our prayers and support.
