What a year it has been! Much has happened in the past twelve months, more than we could have ever imagined. Although we are still in the process of transition from the United Kingdom to the United States, there are numerous things for which to be thankful. God has been faithful and is continuing to work out His ultimate purposes in our lives and in the work of Searchlight Ministries.

for the faithfulness of His people, and the way that we have repeatedly been encouraged by the prayers, support, and thoughtfulness of the friends of Searchlight. We sincerely want to say thank you to God and to all who have been a vital part of the work of Searchlight this year.

We also want to publicly express our gratitude to Kim Ordo, who for the past several years has faithfully handled the administration of all our activity and communication in the USA. Now that Searchlight has moved to the USA, Kim is helping us make the transition before moving on to other things that God has for her life. We appreciate all that Kim has done voluntarily over the last few years.

that we want to tell you about. Because of his acceptance of the presidency of Biola University in California, Dr. Barry Corey has had to take a leave of absence from the board. He offered this statement in regard to this decision:

"Given my new responsibilities at Biola University, I have come to the decision that it would be best for me to take a leave of absence from the Advisory Board of Searchlight Ministries. While I will not be part of the regular communciation and counsel that I have grown to enjoy and appreciate with the other members of the Board, I will continue to be an advocate of Searchlight Ministries and pray regularly for God’s continued blessing on Bruce, Pippa, Mike, and Anne, as well as the members of the board I deeply admire for their sacrifice and wisdom. May God’s outpouring continue to fall upon the ministry of Searchlight as faithfully you follow His Word and boldly proclaim the Gospel."

In October, Bruce Garrison flew to New York City to meet with Mulenda Omary, a District Superintendent with the Tanzania Assemblies of God, to discuss the possibilities of a Swahili translation of "Light for Life" magazine for East Africa. Upon Pastor Omary’s return to Tanzania, a sample translation is now in process. If the quality of translation seems acceptable, production on the Swahili translation will begin in 2008!

toward a Spanish translation for Central and South America. In early December Bruce Garrison met with a missionary who is working in remote Peru among a previously unreached people group that is directly descended from the Inca Indians. There is a great interest in using Searchlight’s material for discipleship and spiritual growth. Please pray that God will guide our steps as we consider how to move forward through this new open door.

as they continue to wait for their Immigation Visas to the USA. We have asked our US Congressman to assist us with moving the process along more quickly. Please continue to pray that God will bring this matter to a conclusion so that Mike and Anne can get moved here and continue with the work to which God has called them.

now becomes Searchlight’s exciting priority. We are now looking ahead to the coming year with a sense of anticipation at the opportunities that are before us. All end of year giving will go toward the continuing work of strengthening and encouraging the Church of Jesus Christ around the world with the message of Jesus Christ and the fullness of life that is available in Him.
